The Andalusian Molecular Biology and Regenerative Medicine Centre (CABIMER) have a cell manufacturing support unit to manufacture cell therapy and tissue engineered medicinal products in accordance with GMP guidelines. It covers an area of approximately 65 m2, divided into 3 manufacturing rooms.
Since November 2009 the GMP Laboratory has been authorized by the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices (AEMPS) to isolate and expand expanded autologous, differentiated mesenchymal stem cell derived from adipose tissue
The qualified personnel working in this unit are manufacturing medicinal products in research for two clinical trials:
- Multicentre, phase I/II, randomized and controlled for the study of the use of stem cells as cell therapy for chronic critical limb ischemia syndrome in insulinized type 2 diabetic patients: study of insulin needs.
